Secretary: Glenn informed the meeting that the Club had contracted Diskray Pty Ltd (John Pemberton) to provide the Club’s Secretariat needs for the season.

IDRU Reps: Glenn as President and Canio as Juniors Representative are the two representatives to IDRU Council. Glenn McGuinness and John Pemberton will attend Rugby Committee meetings.

Club Captain: Cillian Grennell and Shaun Dutailis were elected as co-captains.

�

Executive Committee Members: Mark Elson, Dave Dobinson, Wayne Dobson, Rob Pedersen were elected. Coach Shaun McCreedy will be invited to attend all meetings. Player representatives elected were Shaun Dutaillis & Cillian Grennell.

Social Committee: Shane Lutze, Cillian Grennell, Shaun Dutailis, Donny Nepia, Joe Kaio, Po Collier were elected.

2010 Season training

Training has started on Monday and Wednesday nights, starting promptly at 6-30, on Uni oval # 3 (the lower one next to the highway). This will continue until end of March when we will return to our normal Tuesday and Thursday training.

Rugby "Black and White" Ball - 13th June is when the Club will be holding their annual ball. This is another not to miss club event to “Put in Your Diary”.

The Club has booked the Silver Room at the Portofino Reception Centre

The night start at 7 pm with buffet and drinks package (unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks).

Tickets for the meal, drinks, entertainment are $65 each. An early bird special deal is a ticket for $60 – ladies $55 so get a table together for a big night.

Tickets are on sale from the social committee – stay tuned for more details.

2009 Social Calendar

For the social butterflies out there this is the plan for the year

Protégé Auction - 2nd May 2009 at the Harp. All players playing their first year with the club must attend
Fund raiser - 9th May 2009 intended at North Wollongong surf club (to be confirmed). Each 1st and 2nd grade player is to be given 5 tickets which they will either sell for $ 10 each or donate $ 50.

Games night - 16th May 2009 in Harp sports bar
Rugby Ball - 13th June THEME STILL TO COME at the Portofino Lounge in Wollongong
Trivia night - 20th June 2009 in Harp sports bar.
Bus trip - 22nd August 2009 from Engadine.

After every home game - All players are required back to the Harp for the 7pm post match function. Players are also encouraged to return to the Harp after away games and invited to stay after post match function.

Mallee Bulls take out Uni Challenge

The Mallee Bulls took out the University Challenge at University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury on saturday. Well done to all the boys who played and put in their best efforts.

A bit about the junior club:

Another season of rugby is almost upon and we'd like to welcome all parents, players and supporters back this year. Our Junior Club committee has busily been working over the off season in preparation for 2009.

Our Club continues to grow from strength to strength. We are planning to field 7 teams from u8's thru to u16's in this year's competition which will kick-off on Sunday, 29 March
